Never Lose Data Again: A Guide to ViceVersa PRO

Automating file syncing with ViceVersa PRO requires creating a synchronization profile and scheduling it to run automatically using one of its built-in automation utilities. By configuring these components, the software can run hidden in the background as a Windows service to manage data across local drives, network shares, or servers without any user interaction. Step 1: Create Your Synchronization Profile

Before you can automate the process, you must tell ViceVersa PRO what folders to monitor and how to handle the data.

Select Directories: Launch ViceVersa PRO and add your Source folder (the data you want to copy) and Target folder (the destination).

Run a Comparison: Click Compare to let the software map out the files and identify newer, older, or added files side-by-side.

Choose Execution Method: Select Synchronization for bidirectional syncing (changes on either side mirror to the other). Alternatively, choose Backup or Replication if you prefer a strict, one-way mirror from Source to Target.

Save the Profile: Go to File > Save Profile As… and save your configurations as a .fsf profile file. Step 2: Choose an Automation Method

ViceVersa PRO does not handle real-time background scheduling directly within the main comparison UI; instead, it relies on several native utility tools included with your installation: 1. VVScheduler (Best for Periodic Schedules)

Accessible via the Tools menu inside ViceVersa PRO, VVScheduler allows you to run multiple profiles at set times. Open VVScheduler and create a new task. Point the task to your saved .fsf profile.

Set the trigger time (e.g., daily at 2:00 AM, or every X hours). 2. VVLauncher (Best for Basic File-Change Detection)

Also included in the standard ViceVersa PRO download, this tool handles one profile at a time. Use VVLauncher to track your primary profile.

It monitors your folders and triggers a sync as soon as file changes are detected. 3. VVEngine (Best for Enterprise & Real-Time Syncing)

VVEngine is an advanced scheduling add-on (available as a separate download) designed for robust automation.
